Overlapping peptide libraries are primarily used in whole protein scans. Main goal of designing this unique library is generating overlapping peptide sequences with specific lengths and offsets to cover the entire natural protein sequence.
Applications
- Scanning antigen sequences of interest
- Screening a protein for target substrates
- Identifying T-cell epitopes
- Stimulating T-cells in T-cell assays
- Mapping antibody epitopes
- Searching for additional binding sites within a given protein

Library Design
- At BOC Sciences, our experts divide the original protein/peptide sequence into various overlapping peptides of the same length
- The protein is synthesized starting from the N-terminal and gradually intercepting towards the C-Terminus, an orphan peptide will be left at the end. In general, we suggest to transfer one or several amino acids from the N-Terminus to maintain a consistent length
- To minimize experimental costs and maximize data value, BOC Sciences carefully choose the optimal offset number and peptide length: We usually set the offset number to one-third of the peptide length. And our experts design the peptide considering the optimal peptide length of 8 to 20 amino acids
Custom Library Synthesis and Delivery
- At BOC Sciences, peptide arrays are provided in a variety of sizes and formats according to the demand of different projects
- Peptide lengths can be ranging from 5 to 30 amino acids, which can meet most requirement of applications
- Our expert teams can provide peptide library containing up to 50 amino acid if there is special demand
- Standard delivery times of around 3-4 weeks depending on different library size and peptide length
- Delivered as freeze-dried in 96-well plates for subsequent experiments
- MS and HPLC analysis results are provided for each peptide product
- All peptides in the library will be delivered as TFA-salts as lyophilized powder
