Our Screening Libraries

DNA-encoded library (DEL) technology is developed as a novel ligand identification method that allows the synthesis and screening of unprecedented chemical diversity more efficiently than conventional methods. BOC Sciences uses combinatorial chemistry to rapidly generate DNA-encoded compounds library, in which a large number of building blocks are used for synthesis and each with a unique DNA code attached to it. Compounds synthesized from multiple building blocks have a unique encoding generated by combining the codes of all the building blocks in the compound.

The key factors for fragment library construction are the size of the compound library, the quality of the fragments in the library, and the method of detection. When designing fragment libraries, BOC Sciences fragment library is able to meet the following requirements:

  1. High solubility
  2. High purity
  3. Do not contain active functional groups and avoid aggregation between fragments
  4. Fully reflect the structural diversity

High throughput screening technology relies heavily on a large number of compound libraries with high structural diversity. BOC Sciences HTS compounds are consistently updated with new screening compounds that cover a broader chemical space and have optimal physicochemical properties for medicinal chemistry and drug discovery processes. In the design and screening of compound libraries, we use a validated approach to ensure the diversity and high specificity of our HTS compound libraries.

One obvious advantage of virtual screening libraries is that they allow access to new compounds that are not available when screening existing compound libraries. BOC Sciences uses a series of rational approaches to reduce library size, customize libraries for a given target, and perform in silico screening of compound libraries against a large number of targets of interest more efficiently. Our teams apply the following principles in the design of virtual libraries:

  1. Use of 3D target structure information in the design process
  2. Application of pharmacophore quantitative-activity relationship (QSAR) methods to focus on the library that most closely resemble screening hits
  3. Reduce the scale of medicinal chemistry and screening currently performed
